Announcing a new study: How Readers Discover Content, 2018

Guest post by: Bert Carelli, Director of Partnerships at TrendMD

Rapidly evolving technologies and social trends may affect the ways that readers keep up with an ever-increasing flood of scholarly information. Researchers, libraries, authors, publishers, and other stakeholders need to understand how readers find and access online journals, books, and video.

A new study of user behavior, How Readers Discover Content, follows on from work undertaken in 2005, 2008, 2012 and 2015, and an upcoming report will provide an update on trends in reader behavior. The survey findings and the all the raw survey data will once again be made freely available. The 2015 report, which you can access here, provided a wealth of information.

To ensure that your users’ and other stakeholders’ input is included in this important study, please publicize, through your social media and other marketing channels, this link to the survey: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/TrendMD2
The survey is designed to take no more than 9 minutes to complete. All responses are given anonymously.
At the end of the survey, participants will be redirected to a separate site to optionally enter a prize drawing for the chance to win one of three $100 Amazon vouchers and optionally elect to receive by email a copy of the findings of this survey and a link to the raw data.

The survey is being carried out by Simon Inger and Tracy Gardner, from Renew Publishing Consultants. TrendMD is delighted to be a supporter of this year’s project.
